About the Institute and the Certificate
Is the institute government-run, and is the certificate accredited?+
The institute is a semi-governmental entity, and the certificate is accredited by the Ministry of Education and the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation.
Does the institute have branches in the Kingdom?+
The only current branch is in the city of Arar; additional branches may be established in the future as need grows.
What certificate do I receive after graduation?+
A diploma in Mining, Electrical Technician, or Mechanical Technician, depending on the specialization.
Admission and Registration
When does the admission portal open?+
Training opportunities are announced based on employer needs, and the admission portal is likely to open three times a year.
What specializations are currently offered at the institute?+
Underground Mining, Surface Mining, Plant Operations, Electrical Maintenance, and Mechanical Maintenance.
If I am registered with the Human Resources Development Fund, will I be considered for admission?+
You will only be admitted to the institute after confirming that your name is not registered with the Human Resources Development Fund.
Can training be deferred after admission?+
Training cannot be deferred, as the institute is bound by a contract with the employing company and a fixed training period.
Training Pathway
How many years is training at the institute?+
Two years of training at the institute's campus in Arar, plus six months of on-the-job training.
Is the training theoretical or practical?+
The first year covers English, computing, safety and life skills, while the second year involves practical training on advanced simulators.
What are the institute's training hours?+
From 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Employment and Benefits
Is the training employment-linked?+
Yes, the training is employment-linked with the sponsoring company.
Is employment guaranteed after graduation?+
Employment is guaranteed upon successfully completing the program.
What benefits does a trainee receive during training?+
A training stipend, housing or a housing allowance, plus enrollment in social insurance and medical insurance provided by the sponsoring company.
Is the trainee enrolled in social insurance during training?+
Yes, the trainee is enrolled in social insurance.
