Director General's Message
Saudi Mining Polytechnic was established in 2012 as a partnership between the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation and Ma'aden, to develop Saudi youth to take on roles in the mining industry. The Missouri University of Science and Technology was initially contracted to operate the institute, and the technical programs were designed and developed by that university.
In its ongoing pursuit of quality, the institute operates seven state-of-the-art simulators and a scaled-down mineral processing lab, making it a leader in mining vocational training in the Gulf region. It also offers an outstanding English program that enables graduates to achieve at least a B1+ proficiency level on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
The institute's programs focus on graduating well-rounded operators, including discipline, work ethics, safety behaviour, communication and effective leadership. A dedicated safety exhibition was established at the institute to raise awareness of industrial and personal safety procedures, and the institute has earned several international safety accreditations, including OSHA, the British Safety Council and the National Safety Council, in addition to full institutional accreditation from the Education and Training Evaluation Commission.
“Together, towards localizing jobs in the Kingdom's mining sector.”
